Presented by the Ira Aldridge Repertory Players, Calvin Manson, playwright and director, will showcase an excerpt from his choreopoem, JAZZETRY: A Celebration of Rhythm, Resilience, & Liberation. This work blends art and activism to illuminate the resilience of the Black community.
This event serves as both a celebration and a fundraiser for the Ira Aldridge Repertory Players, San Diego’s premier Black theater company, celebrating 43 years of artistic excellence. Your attendance supports the future of Black storytelling.
Enjoy live music by Kimberly Jackson (vocals) and an all-star ensemble featuring Iris Anderson, Yvette Porter Moore, William McCray, Portia Gregory, and Leon Matthews. Music will be brought to life by Stephen Gooden (piano), Earl Vaults (saxophone), Weldon Cook Sr. (cajón), and James Hunt (bass). The incomparable Jacquelyn Clark will MC the evening.

Presented by the Ira Aldridge Repertory Players, the event features live music by Kimberly Jackson (vocals) and an all-star ensemble, with musicians Stephen Gooden (piano), Earl Vaults (saxophone), Weldon Cook Sr. (cajón), and James Hunt (bass). Hosted by Jacquelyn Clark, the night also includes a curated display of artwork by Calvin Manson and a Q&A session, The Feel Back.
