DESCRIPTION: will offer educational enrichment\, \ncommunity networking\, and access to health resources. This community collaboration with the San Diego \nChapter’s National Trends and Services and Health and Human Services Facets prioritizes the following \nfocus areas for this expo: \n• Financial Literacy – Financial Wellness topics ranging from budgeting and credit scores to \nfinancing a car or even saving for retirement. \n• Health Literacy – Financial capability (financial literacy coupled with access to economic \nopportunity) has a positive\, long-term effect on health. \n• AARP: Are You Ready? Components for preventative measures during each specific life stage and \nhealth\, wellness and financial support and services to the 50+ community. \n• High Expectations – Responding to the Drug Epidemic: Our goal is to increase our communities’ \ncapacity to fight and resist conditions that facilitate drug use and addiction. \nThis event addresses health\, educational and economic disparities that negatively impact the health and \nquality of life for many in the San Diego community. Our event is part of The Links\, Incorporated’s \nnationwide Black Family Wellness Expos\, held across the country throughout March\, leveraging collective \nmembership to improve outcomes for Black families. \nWe are honored to feature CA Senator Dr. Akilah Weber Pierson\, for a nonpartisan community forum.
